The Western Regional Chapter (WRC) of the Italian American Studies Association (IASA) will fund two $500 scholarships to students/residents in the states serviced by the WRC (CA, AZ, NV, HI, WA, OR, ID, CO, AK, NM). Students will be awarded scholarships based on the merit of their research proposals and must include writing about or researching some aspect of the World War II story. Any project that provides information about new aspects of the wartime restrictions-material on the internees, local police records relating to turned-in contraband, oral histories, the detention of women-are welcome.

REQUIREMENTS

• Recipient must currently be an undergraduate or graduate student.
• Recipient must be continuing with her/his education.
• Recipient must have a minimum 3.2 collegiate G.P.A.
• Recipient must have research interest on the Italian American/WWII experience.
